Tidbit Tuesday / Enjoy The Age They Are!

I shared in my first book, Refuge Ranch: A Story for Your Glory (p.20), about not being content with Christy, my first born, with each age she was at any given time.

I really had no idea of the magnitude of the marvelous gift that God had entrusted into our care. I was constantly wishing she could talk, or walk, or reach whatever the next developmental stage that she was approaching.

They say that with age comes wisdom. In my early 50's when God blessed us with these 3 monkeys, I KNEW! I knew the jewels and treasures that God had entrusted into our care. I'm sure there were some bad days, exhausted days, etc. when I secretly thought, " I can't wait til they grow up", but mostly, I JUST ENJOYED THEM. I didn't rush them. I didn't hurry them. I knew God's Word, and more importantly, Father's heart. Psalms 127:3 in The Passion Translation says it best!

"Children are God's love-gift;

they are heaven's generous reward."

So, dear parents, enjoy those Jewels and Treasures. Don't be foolish like me! That pic was 8 years ago, and truly it seems as if I just blinked and here we are. There are struggles at every stage of life, but don't wish these times away . . . cherish them! Love and nurture your children through them.
