Faithful Friday / Sharing Christ's Bridal Passion

A few years ago, I was reveling in Song of Solomon, and basking in His presence when I received this revelation.

I was thinking of a young bride and how her every thought is "How can I please my bridegroom?" Everything that touches his life is of utmost importance to her. She will sit for hours listening to him talk even if the conversation is of no interest to her. She cares about and is desperate to be involved in every area, every aspect of his life.

Now apply that to Christ as our Bridegroom. The things that make Him smile, should make me smile. What makes Him laugh should tickle me. What makes His weep, should bring tears to my eyes. What makes Him shout should make a well of praise rise up within me and explode into jubilation! As Christ's Bride, I should be passionate about the things He's passionate about!

"Oh Jesus,

You loved the Church so much You died for her. What am I doing for her?

Your heart overflowed with love manifested by drops of blood. What am I doing for her?

In Your greatest hour of need, You cried out in intercession pleading for forgiveness for her leaders. What am I doing for her?

You are so passionate for Isarael - Your cherished homeland. You wept for her. What am I doing for her?

Even through the pain of Your fatigue and rejection, You healed, ministered, touhed, changed, and restored lives. What am I doing?

If I love You like I say, how will I spend this, Your day? What am I doing?

The Church - she meant so much to You that You gave everything You had - every second, every thought, every drop of blood, every breath in Your body - EVERYTHING! If I love You like I say then this too should be my way, but . . . What am I doing?

Sobering thoughts aren't they? As Christ's bride may we be found doing what He would do!

Listen to what He says to us in Song of Solomon 2:10,

"Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away . . "

Come away from your worries and burdens. Come away from your problems and trials. Listen He is calling, "Come away, come away. Rest in Me!" Come and enjoy His delightful presence. Bask in His goodness. In His love.

Then others will say to you, "Where has your Beloved turned aside. That we may seek Him with you?" (Song of Solomon 6:1)

When we are at that place of radiating Father's love so strongly that it inspires others to seek Him, we will be doing what Jesus did! I don't know about you, but that's exactly what I want to be doing!
