Faithful Friday / He’s Faithful In The Storms

Sitting in a hospital room beside a loved one makes me very contemplative. The doctors are saying they believe Billy, my hubby, had another stroke.

As we look at the world, what we see is determined by our mindset and the lenses through which we are looking. Take the picture on the left. Do you see weeds or God's handiwork?

It all depends on how you look at it. Looking at the circumstances of our lives is much the same.

Billy had a dizzy spell Monday a week ago. That cleared up in about 2 hours, but his balance was still affected somewhat. Thursday afternoon in Eastman his balance worsened even more. I rushed to Eastman and drove him to Macon so he could be seen by his neurologist that saw him last year when he had a stroke.

Within 10 minutes of our arrival at the ER, they were calling Code Stroke and wheeling Billy out to do a CT scan of his brain. It happened so fast that it took me a few seconds to realize that they were calling the Code Stroke for Billy. Weeds or God's handiwork? I say His hand at work protecting Billy.

After they did about a half dozen tests, he was rolled back out to the ER waiting room to sit with me because there wasn't an ER room available for him to rest in as he awaited his tests results. We sat there more than 6 hours, but they said that earlier that week it had been a lot busier. . . another blessing. A little after midnight, he was finally put in an ER room. He finally had a bed to lie down on. It was a hard, narrow gurney actually, but I didn't see that - I saw rest for my tired hubby.

Just as God made these beautiful flowers sprout from the barren sandy soil, if we will only look, we can see His glorious provision in every second of every day, through every trial, in the midst of every stormy circumstance.

What do you see? To a large extent, you get to decide by choosing which lenses you focus through . . . the glass is always less than half full and is probably going lower, or the glass is more than half full and did you see that? I do believe it's increasing to overflowing! Daddy G is sooooo Amazingly Faithful!!!

Update on Billy: No major stroke episode, but couldn't rule out mini stroke because they couldn't do an MRI because of his pacemaker. They believe that he is having TIA's - mini strokes - due to the narrowing and then expanding of blood vessels. We got to come home Saturday evening, and they have ordered home health to help manage his risk factors like diabetes , meds, etc. Thank each and every one for all the prayers and support! Bless you! and remember . . .

He is faithful in the storms of life!
